Khoy combined cycle power plant with capacity of 340 MW is located at 15th Km of Khoy-Salmas highway. Construction and installation of gas units was began in June 1996 and their operation started 2 years later. The steam unit was connected to the grid in Sep. 2002.
In order to implement the 4th Economical, Social and Cultural Development Plan of Islamic Republic of Iran and Article 44 of constitution, in late 2010, Consortium consist of Jam Energy Development Co., Pasargad Energy Development Co. and Arian Mah Taab Gostar Co. was announced as the winner of tender of selling Khoy Power Plant by Iran Privatization Organization.
In 2011 the company ”Parto Shams Taban Power Generating” was established in order to manage the Khoy power plant activities.
